Please join us for our annual meeting, 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13

At the annual meeting, we’ll present an overview and annual report on the state of the association and neighborhood, and board members for 2020-21 will be elected. Our meeting will be virtual this year.

We’re also looking for volunteers to join the Midway Woods Association board …

.. and help out with the various projects organized and overseen by the Midway Association. Whether you’ve newly arrived to Midway Woods or are a long-term resident, we’d love to have you consider joining us.

The Midway Woods Association works to communicate with Dekalb County officials and departments on behalf of the neighborhood and organize opportunities for the larger community to meet with officials, ask questions and air their concerns. We coordinate events such as neighborhood and creek clean-ups, and events such as community picnics, public meetings, food truck visits and the Midway Woods Book Club, open to all neighborhood residents. We put together a monthly email newsletter with neighborhood news and event info. And with more board members and volunteers, we can do even more.

Our neighborhood is a diverse one and our goal is to have a diverse representation on the board and its committees to ensure all neighbor’s needs and concerns are included and to ensure well-rounded decision making. We need to advocate for our Midway Woods neighborhood, and strive to make this a thriving community. And we try to have fun doing it.

If you’re interested in rolling up your sleeves and getting involved in these or other activities, we’d love to have you! We’ll be taking nominations for board members at our annual meeting on October 13 and putting together a final ballot shortly thereafter. (You can also email us at midwaywoodscommunications@gmaill.com if you are interested in becoming a board member.) Board member terms are for two years.

Once the new board is in place, we’ll be meeting to set goals and an agenda for what we hope to accomplish in 2022, so if you want to make an impact, now is the time.

More information on the association and its purpose can be found on the bylaws page of this website: https://www.midwaywoodsassociation.org/about/

In order to be a board member, you need to be a member of the association itself. If you haven’t joined the association yet, it is not too late! Start by filling out this form: https://forms.gle/biG1NTuUhfZ9xuhKA
