The Midway Woods Neighborhood Plant Swap and Social returns — Saturday, October 21

Trunkful of plants headed to the Midway Woods Plant Swap event

Please join us for our second neighborhood Midway Woods Neighborhood Plant Swap and Social (but our first one held in the fall). The plant swap we held in the spring was so successful, we wanted to try it again in the fall.

When: 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023

Where: The pavilion and creekside area of Dearborn Park off Deerwood Drive

Best types of plants for a plant swap

Whether you are looking to offload some greenery, acquire a new plant or two, or want to meet other Midway Woods neighbors with a green thumb, please come on out, share ideas, and bounce projects off one another.

Picking up some new plants now should give you time to get your outdoor plants in the ground and allow them to establish some root systems before the first freeze happens, later in the year. Fingers crossed!

For those who have plants to contribute, we ask that they be healthy and that you label  every pot or plant clearly with common or botanical name, including instructions if required, or whatever you know about the plant (does it prefer sun, shade, etc.) We’ll have notecards and pens on hand at the event for this purpose as well.

Bring photos of your plant in bloom too — everyone will be interested in seeing what the plants might look like in full flower.

If you are interested in participating, please RSVP with us  at midwaywoodscommunications@gmail.com so we have an idea of the head count for the event. Email us as well at midwaywoodscommunications@gmail.com  with questions and ideas.

We hope to see you there!
