Please join us for a neighborhood street clean-up and trash clean-up — the Great Midway Woods Trash Sweep — on the weekend of October 23rd, this coming weekend

If you walked the Midway Woods streets lately, you’ve likely noticed litter off the side of the road. We’re planning to do a little something about that and are banding together over the October 23rd weekend to try to make an impact and clean up our streets! Please join us!!

Here’s what we’re asking: At some point on Saturday, October 23rd or Sunday, October 24, head out into the neighborhood with a trash bag, gloves and other equipment that might help you pick up the litter and trash that has accumulated of late on our neighborhood streets and spend a little bit of time picking up some of that trash.

Members of the Midway Woods Association will be at Dearborn Park (at the covered pavilion off Deerwood Drive) from 9 a.m. to 10 am.  on Saturday, October 23 to hand out trash-picking supplies and otherwise marshal our neighborhood forces. Stop by and say hello and pick up some supplies before heading out on your own street sweep. You are welcome to use your own trash-collecting supplies of course, but we plan to have the following on hand:

  • Reach-it tools/trash pickers
  • Rubber Gloves
  • Trash bags
  • Yard waste bags

(We just ask that the reach-it tools be returned to 1339 Deerwood Drive once your own trash sweep is complete, by 6 p.m. Sunday, October 24.)

If you need assistance or are looking for a street that needs some attention, just let us know. We’ll be happy to assist you.

We have hopes of making this a more regular occurrence, and we’re hoping you can join us the weekend of October 23rd to help sweep our streets clean of trash and litter. Email us at midwaywoodscommunications@gmail.com to RSVP and for more info.
