Community Stakeholder Invitation from DeKalb County Fire Rescue

We received this invitation from The DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department looking for assistance and community involvement as they develop a strategic plan to guide the department’s mission for the next 5 years.

Here is the information we received. If anyone here is interested in attending (our board members are unable to), please let us know (email us at: midwaywoodscommunications@gmail.com) and I can forward you more info.

“The DeKalb County Fire Rescue department strives to achieve the highest level of professionalism and efficiency with the delivery of our programs and services to the community. We are seeking your assistance as we establish a community-driven strategic plan that will guide the organization over the next five years. At the recommendation of my command staff, you have been selected to be invited to this important event.  Your participation in this community event is very important. If your calendar does not allow you to directly participate, you are welcome to have a designee attend on your behalf. The session will take place as follows:

                   Date:               Monday, September 8, 2025

                   Time:               11:30 am – 1:00 pm

Location:          1950 W Exchange Place, 5th Floor Conference Room

The community-driven strategic planning process includes important community feedback designed to look at the current expectations and concerns that the community has, and it requires us to determine how our fire department can best meet those expectations and overcome the concerns. We plan to host a community structured stakeholder input session to gain a better understanding of our customers’ expectation, to identify community concerns that may exist, and to identify the community’s priorities regarding programs and services that we provide. Your feedback from the instruments used in this brief meeting will allow us to understand a broad-based community perspective on how we are doing, and on how we may serve you better.

In closing, thank you for your participation as we know it reflects your dedication and commitment to your community and your neighbors.  We will provide a box lunch as you work through your lunch hour and promise to have you out of the meeting by 1:00 pm. Please RSVP by Tuesday, September 2, 2025 using the link above so that we may ensure preparations for the attendance are complete. If you have any additional questions, you can contact the Office of Deputy Chief Tom Burrell at 678-406-7840 or tbburrell@dekalbcountyga.gov. It is our goal that through this process we can better serve the citizens, businesses, and visitors in the area protected by the DeKalb County Fire Rescue.

Sincerely,

Darnell Fullum
